The route takes runners along the iconic Brighton seafront and promenade, through the charming villages of the South Downs hinterland, and back to the coast. The Race
Brighton
The Brighton Marathon was founded in 1981, during the golden age of mass-participation running. Now 45 years old, it has established itself as a beloved fixture in Brighton, growing from its early editions into a race with genuine character and loyal following.
The fastest time ever recorded at the Brighton Marathon is 02:12:49, set by Luke Travers in 2022. Every year, new contenders line up hoping to challenge that mark on the streets of Brighton.
