The Space Coast Marathon begins in downtown Cocoa Beach and follows a scenic point-to-point route along Florida's Atlantic coast, passing through charming beach communities and near Kennedy Space Center. Runners experience the unique vantage of running through Florida's Space Coast region with ocean views and coastal breezes throughout most of the race.
Early November in Cocoa Beach offers pleasant running conditions with warm but not scorching temperatures and moderate humidity. Sea breezes help keep runners cool, with low risk of rain and abundant sunshine.

The Space Coast Marathon was founded in 1988, during the golden age of mass-participation running. Now 38 years old, it has established itself as a beloved fixture in Cocoa Beach, growing from its early editions into a race with genuine character and loyal following.
