The Brisbane Marathon is a primarily flat, fast course that loops through the heart of Brisbane's business district and along the scenic Brisbane River precinct. Starting and finishing at South Bank Parklands, the race showcases the city's modern architecture, cultural institutions, and riverside attractions. The route is almost entirely on smooth road surfaces with minimal elevation changes, making it ideal for fast times.
Brisbane in June is in winter with mild temperatures and low humidity. Cool mornings and pleasant conditions make it favorable for fast marathon running, with occasional rainfall possible.
