1. Acceptance

By using marathon-index.com ("the Service"), you agree to these terms. If you disagree, please do not use the Service.

2. The Service

Marathon Index is a free guide to marathons and half-marathons worldwide. We provide:

• Race information, statistics, and course data
• Personalized training plans
• Community features (reviews, ratings, race results, profiles)
• Race comparison and discovery tools

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty. Race information may be inaccurate — always verify with official race organizers.

3. Accounts

• You sign in via Google or Strava OAuth — we don't store passwords
• You're responsible for your account activity
• One account per person
• You can delete your account at any time by emailing [email protected]

4. User Content

When you post reviews, race results, or other content:

• You retain ownership of your content
• You grant us a non-exclusive license to display it on the Service
• Content must be truthful and not violate others' rights
• We may remove content that violates these terms
• One review per person per race

5. Prohibited Use

• Posting false reviews or race results
• Automated scraping without permission
• Harassment of other users
• Impersonating race organizers or other users
• Using the Service for commercial purposes without permission

6. Race Organizer Claims

Race organizers can claim their race pages. When you claim a race:

• You represent that you are authorized to act on behalf of the race organization
• Information you provide must be accurate
• We may revoke claims for misrepresentation
• Claimed races may be featured on the homepage

7. Training Plans

Training plans are AI-generated suggestions, not medical advice. Always consult a healthcare professional before starting a training program. We are not responsible for injuries resulting from following our training plans.

8. Intellectual Property

• The Marathon Index brand, design, and original content are our property
• Race data is compiled from public sources and our own research
• Photos are sourced under appropriate licenses (see Photo Credits)

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Marathon Index is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us (which is zero — the Service is free).

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Sweden. Disputes shall be resolved in Swedish courts.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Significant changes will be communicated via a banner on the site.
