The Great Barrier Reef Marathon features a scenic double-loop course starting and finishing at Four Mile Beach in Port Douglas. Runners traverse the beachfront and surrounding coastal roads with stunning tropical views, passing through the town center and taking in the natural beauty of Far North Queensland. The course is fast and flat, making it ideal for personal bests.
Warm tropical climate with relatively low rainfall during late October. Humidity is moderate for the region, and sea breezes provide cooling relief along the coastal route.
