Runners come to the Da Nang Marathon for one reason: personal bests. The flat, fast course through Da Nang has a reputation as a PB factory, with the roads seemingly designed to keep your pace honest and your splits consistent from start to finish.
With average race-day temperatures around 32°C, the Da Nang Marathon is as much a battle against heat as against distance. DNF rates climb when the sun is out, and smart pacing in Da Nang's warmth separates experienced runners from those who went out too hard and paid for it.
