2009Established in 2009, the Petra Desert Marathon is now 17 years old. From its first edition in Petra, it has evolved into a race that reflects the character of its host region in Jordan.

The race winds through stunning Nabataean canyons and rose-colored sandstone formations, starting from the Petra visitor center and finishing near the Treasury. Runners experience dramatic elevation changes while passing UNESCO World Heritage geological formations and authentic Bedouin villages.
