The Race
Addis Ababa
Launched in 2015, the Addis Ababa Half Marathon is one of the newer races on the circuit. Despite its youth, it has quickly built a reputation in Addis Ababa, attracting runners drawn to its challenging terrain and the energy of an event still finding its identity.
With 250m of elevation gain, the Addis Ababa Half Marathon is not a course for the faint-hearted. The climbs are where races are won and lost — where the gap between training and undertrained reveals itself without mercy. Locals say the course doesn't beat you; it just waits for you to beat yourself.
